Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Lexington Cardiovascular Surgery, located in West Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking the addition of a second PA in a two-surgeon practice performing all aspects of Cardiac, Vascular & Thoracic Surgery. This is a Physician led / PA driven model with no resident program that focuses on all aspects of care for the CVT surgical patient. This position will include an opportunity to care for patients from the preoperative evaluation to intra-operative assisting and all aspects of postoperative care from the Surgical ICU to the step-down unit. Our Cardiac surgery program performed its first open heart surgery in March 2012 and has quickly grown. Our typical year includes 420 hearts (340 pump cases and 80 TAVRs) as well as Major thoracic surgery. We are prepared to aggressively pursue a qualified candidate ready to take part in this ever-expanding program.
The Ideal Candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of solid CVT surgical knowledge and experience, including EVH, Radial artery harvesting, invasive procedures, first assisting in all areas of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, as well as proficiency covering the ICU and step-down unit. Certifications in BLS and ACLS are required.
Minimum Qualifications will include Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant Program, NCCPA Board Certification, and eligibility for State Licensure in the State of South Carolina through the Board of Medical Examiners. Knowledge of all laws pertaining to the prescribing and dispensing of medication.
Additional Salary Information: Salary is commensurate with experience.
