The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking a full-time Faculty for Pediatric Pulmonology to serve as core faculty for this newly established department. The chosen candidate will join an established practice with another Pediatric Pulmonologist and nurse practitioner. Faculty is expected to maintain a clinical practice, supervise residents and teach medical students and play an active role in the development of scholarship.
Reporting to the Chair, Dr. Robert Nelson, of the Department of Pediatrics UTRGV, the new faculty responsibilities include supervision and maintaining an educational environment conductive to education for medical residents and/or students in each of the ACGME/LCME competency areas. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Current Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and a subspecialty in Pediatric Pulmonology, either possess or be eligible to apply for a valid Texas medical license, completion of an ACGME approved Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship and Board certification interest in that specialty, qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and an appointment to the Medical Staff of the assigned partner hospital. Experience in UME and GME in Pediatrics preferred.
