Job SummaryIn collaboration with the physician, provides care to new or established patients. Demonstrates autonomy through patient evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. Orders testing as deemed necessary and remains proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication and therapeutic regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner. These roles, undertaken in cooperation with nursing, staff physicians and other department staff, may include triage, telephone communication and patient education.Job DutiesJOB TITLE: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Community Medicine LOCATION: Millville, Pennsylvania DEPARTMENT: Community Medicine WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings WORK TYPE: FULL TIME At Geisinger Millville, we offer primary care and specialty services to the Millville community as well as numerous free health related events and screenings throughout the year. Our staff members go above and beyond to deliver our robust care model to members of the Lewisburg community to ensure they receive the best quality care possible. Geisinger Millville is seeking an experienced or newly graduated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team. We are proud to give our primary care providers the innovative tools and support they need to do what they do best - provide exceptional care through: -Appointments: Patients age 65+ received extended forty- minute appointments; twenty-minute appointments for patients under 65 and acute care visits. -Daily huddles with all care team members to review essential information about schedules, patients, resource needs and coordination of care -Pharmacists to assist with patient education and medication management -Availability of care managers, health managers, clinic health associates and coding educators to providers -Increased access to care by means of eVisits, patient portals, Geisinger's Careworks urgent care clinics and even text messaging. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure. The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
