Duke's Drive Up Test Site seeks to hire a New Grad or Clinical Nurse II who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together! Summary Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. This role may be asked to float to multiple areas. Job Duties: * Work in an outdoor testing tent environment, including cold or hot temperatures and exposure to outside elements * Assisting in daily site setup and breakdown, including moving clinical supplies, office equipment, and outdoor signage * Teamwork - work closely with other drive thru staff for efficient operations * Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) outlined by the CDC will be provided * Adhere to infection control measures * As a team could test as many as 400 patients/day; 5 min appointments * Provides information regarding the COVID-19 mobile testing program including an explanation of the process and answers to frequently asked questions * Provides clear, timely communication to supervisor if/when situations arise that are not addressed by existing protocols * Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment * Always communicates with patients in a professional manner * Follows all safety protocols, wears assigned personal protective equipment and decontaminates workstation as required * Individual will be responsible for testing patients via nasopharyngeal swab * Ensures patient information is matched to their laboratory paperwork and/or specimen collection labels * Willingness and ability to educate patients on risk avoidance and mitigation efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 * Specimen collection/handling/processing * Comfortable in handling and processing specimens related to COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses once collected. Such as bagging and labeling specimens for lab testing * Ability to travel to different sites based off need, with locations including: Durham, Morrisville, Raleigh * Ability to work three weekend shifts per month Minimum Requirements * Must have an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
