Responsibilities The nurses in the Women's Services Division of George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) are Defining Medicine through our capacity to think, research, evaluate, teach, learn, refine, and innovate. We are experienced RNs who are committed to serving the childbirth needs of the DC urban and surrounding metro community. Our nurses support mothers by honoring how they wish to birth, which may include natural childbirth with midwifery or doula, water births, Cesarean births, epidurals and options for high-risk situations. We are empowered to foster positive patient outcomes through a collaborative practice model and evidence-based nursing practice.
