Associate/Assistant Professor (Tenure track )
The Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care, Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin Madison is seeking two Transplant Pulmonologists to join our Lung Transplant program /Advanced Pulmonary Service.
Program highlights:
- Established in 1988, The lung transplant program at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics is the only Medicare-certified program in Wisconsin. It has performed over 825 lung transplants. Our program includes multi-organ transplant and adolescent transplants,
- We are affiliated with the William S Middleton Memorial VA- the oldest transplant center in the VA and currently the most active.
- We are recognized as a Care Center by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Pulmonary Hypertension Association, and Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation; and have an active ECMO program.
- We have the shortest wait list times in the region with waitlist mortality below the national average and a long history of exceptional patient outcomes.
- Planning is under way for an expanded, state-of-the-art transplant clinic at UW Hospital.
- Rich opportunities to collaborate on research studies of transplant rejection, tolerance, and interstitial lung diseases.
This position will have clinical responsibilities including:
- Provision of care (inpatient and outpatient) for patients with Advanced Pulmonary Disease and Lung Transplant in the UW Health and VA hospital and clinics.
- Evaluation of patients for lung transplant listing
- Additional areas of potential clinical involvement include interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, general pulmonary disease, and critical care.
- Opportunity to serve as Associate Director for the Lung Transplant Program based on qualifications.
- Participate in teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Opportunities to be involved in QI and research within the Lung Transplant program.
Candidates for the Tenure Track will have protected research time (25% clinical duties), and will be expected to have a demonstrated record of research success (publication record, extra mural funding).

Qualifications:
