Respiratory Care Practitioner (Statewide)

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking a knowledgeable Respiratory Care Practitioner well-versed in providing respiratory therapy services and treating pulmonary disorders.

In this key position, you will:

• Provide respiratory therapy and diagnostic testing; evaluate and document the effectiveness of respiratory therapy
• Process all physicians’ orders and schedules appointments as required
• Educate patients in the use of metered dose inhalers, improved breathing techniques, bronchial hygiene and other therapeutics as necessary
• Train Nursing staff in the administration of respiratory diagnostic procedures, treatment, and equipment

To thrive in this role, you must have graduated from an approved respiratory therapy program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care or its predecessor, the Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education, and a license to practice Respiratory Care issued by the Respiratory Care Board of California.
