Patients cared for at CCH are critically ill with complex conditions. CCH is a 48-bed acute care facility, 25 beds are for acute long-term acute care patients and 23 beds are for the acute skilled nursing facility. The average length of stay for each patient is 25 days. We treat patients using invasive ventilation, noninvasive ventilation, and high-flow oxygen therapy. We assist the physician with many procedures such as bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, PEG tube placement, etc. Our goal is to wean each patient from the ventilator and tracheostomy and discharge home. Some patients need to transfer to an inpatient rehab facility or may need to go to a Long-Term care facility if they are unable to progress.
Our team, which includes physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and specialists in physical, occupational and speech therapy, utilizes its skills and experience to individualize care for our long-term patients.
