Description

We are seeking a post-doc candidate to conduct research in human and mouse immunology while receiving advanced training from the Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career. The specific area of research blends immunology with both hematology and transfusion medicine and includes the immune response to blood-borne therapeutics, including coagulation factor VIII and red blood cells. Mouse systems and patient samples will be used to address specific questions related to the role of specific immune populations and signaling pathways shaping the immune response.

Job expectations include: Design and evaluation of experiments. Development of new ideas that promote current research. Preparation and publication of scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. Opportunities to teach techniques to others, train and supervise research staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidate has a strong background in one or a combination of the following areas: Coagulation assays, Flow cytometry, conducting experiments using mouse systems. Preference will be given to candidates who have a solid understanding of immunology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills. The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
