Job Summary:
The physician assistant will work with the Chief of Thoracic Surgery at busy academic medical center. The physician assistant will perform various aspects of patient care across the continuum from consultation to discharge of thoracic surgery patients. These include but are not limited to first assisting on complex thoracoscopic and robotic thoracic surgeries including VATS and RATS lobectomies, esophagectomies and thymectomies. The physician assistant will assist with perioperative care, admissions, physical examinations, assessment diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and outcome evaluation, and collaborate with the clinical team for care of patients in the outpatient clinic and provide seamless and easy patient follow-up care. Communication with physicians and health care team imperative for patient plan of care during rounds and ongoing. Performs related duties, as required.
Experience:
First assist experience and robotic experience preferred
Education:
Graduation from an accredited PA School.
Qualifications / Requirements:
License, Certification and Registration: License and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department as a Physician Assistant or as a Specialist Assistant.
Other:
Must have an active or be eligible to obtain a NYS licenseHospital Experience preferred
