Holy Cross Medical Group (HCMG) and Holy Cross Hospital have an excellent opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurologist with an interest in Stroke to expand the Neurology and Stroke programs at the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This hospital-based, multi-disciplinary Neuroscience Institute is located on the campus of Holy Cross Hospital. The Institute has a faculty of 11 Neurologists, two Surgeons, two Endovascular Surgeons, a Neurocritical Care Intensivist, a Physiatrist and two Interventional Spine and Pain Management Specialists.

The Institute specializes in Neurology, Neurosurgery and Spine and Pain Management; with sub-specialty Neurology clinics including: Stroke Prevention, ALS, MS, Parkinson's Disease, Movement Disorders, Migraine/Headache, and Epilepsy. In addition, the program is engaged in several neuro-focused clinical research trials and protocols for both domestic and international patients. Daily volumes within the clinics average 110–125 including face-to-face as well as telemedicine visits. 

The program has an on-going relationship with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA and Holy Cross is a member of the MGH Global Alliance. This collaboration allows for integrated care for patients who has seasonal residences between the northeast United States and Florida. Protocols and clinical pathways are shared between the two organizations in order to ensure continuity of care.

The selected physician will work primarily in the hospital with a focus on Stroke and General Neurology. The successful candidate will be a key physician partner within the comprehensive stroke team. The stroke program has been recognized by the American Heart/Stroke Association as a Gold Plus Center since 2012 and has also received Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus certification since 2014. In 2018, the program achieved certification as a Thrombectomy Capable Center Accreditation by the Joint Commission and was re-certified in 2021.

Preference will be shown to candidates who possess two or more years of practice experience. However, candidates who have recently completed training are encouraged to apply.
