The Nemours Cardiac Center (NCC) seeks a casual/part time Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Nemours/A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware.
The ideal candidate should be Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Critical Care. Individuals who are Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Cardiology and/or Pediatric Anesthesia with additional training or experience in cardiac critical care will also be considered.
Cardiac intensivists are central members to our integrated practice unit comprised of cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers. Our center is in a dedicated physical plant consisting of a 14 bed cardiac ICU (expanding to 20 beds), a 17 bed Inpatient Unit, a Pre and Post Procedure Unit, a dedicated cardiac OR and a brand new catheterization lab, all within close proximity to each other.
NCC personnel function within a unique organizational structure, which, in addition to providing high value (quality/cost) care, results in a high level of satisfaction for patients, their families and the Center's health care team. Our program was recently awarded a Three Star Rating from Society of Thoracic Surgeons, which recognizes units for their exceptional outcomes. Our hospital is consistently ranked as one of the top Children's' hospitals by US News and World Report and our Cardiac Center serves as a Center of Excellence within the Nemours organization.
Our intensivists care for a broad spectrum of congenital and acquired heart disease including those requiring complex neonatal cardiac repairs, mechanical support (VAD's, E-CPR, ECCS and ECMO), cardiac transplantation, and innovative lymphatic procedures. Training of pediatric critical care, neonatal and cardiology fellows as well as participation in quality improvement, national registries, and multi-institutional studies are considered part of our Center's academic mission.
Located in the North East corridor, our hospital provides limitless cultural and professional opportunities given its easy access and proximity to major metropolitan areas while being nestled in the bucolic Brandywine Valley.
