Overview
We are seeking to find a pediatric hospitalist to join our group at our community hospital in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Alaska? Wait... Keep reading! We are a fun group of pediatricians with an "I got your back" attitude wanting to find the right fit to help take care of the infants and children needing hospital care in our community.
- BC/BE in general pediatrics plus PALS/NRP needed
- Approximately 1100 deliveries/year with peds in attendance at high risk deliveries
- 24/7 in-house coverage divided amongst our team in 12/24 hours shifts with flexibility in scheduling
Hospital areas covered:
- Newborn Nursery, Level 2 NICU, High risk deliveries, Pediatrics, ED/Surgery consults, Stabilization of critically ill infants/children prior to transport
Attending Physician for intermittent rotating pediatric residents and medical students
Competitive pay with a generous signing bonus and yearly CME stipend.
MEDICAL COMMUNITY DETAILS:
Community owned hospital with catchment of approximately 100,000 people.
- 11 bed pediatrics unit
- 12 bed level 2 nursery
- 1100 deliveries per year
Pediatric subspecialists not in community, but assist by phone
- Closest PICU in Anchorage (1 hour away by plane)
- Seattle Children's Hospital--Alaska Track pediatric resident site

Second largest city in Alaska, located in the interior surrounded by rivers, lakes, and easy access to wilderness adventure opportunity.
- Winter opportunities include: Northern lights viewing, skiing (downhill and cross-country), snow machining, hockey, and world-class hot springs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an approved school of medicine with licensure in state where he/she practices.
Board Eligible/Board Certified by appropriate certifying board. Current DEA number.
Must apply for and maintain Medical Staff membership and clinical privileges at appropriate facilities if required by Physician's employment agreement. Requires commitment to healthcare and concern for people in distress, critical listening skills and ability to communicate clearly, desire to work with all types of people and work as a team member and excellent interpersonal skills. Able to meet desired business outcomes while maintaining quality of care. Must be willing to update skills constantly.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
