ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Director, Laboratory for Specialized Clinical Studies
The Division of Infectious Diseases at Cincinnati Children's Hospital seeks a dynamic and expert leader to direct the Laboratory for Specialized Clinical Studies (LSCS). The LSCS is a clinical trials-focused laboratory that has pioneered the design and application of immune assays in support of numerous vaccine trials and epidemiologic studies.
Studies include:
Vaccine studies performed by the NIH and its Vaccine Testing and Evaluation Unit (VTEU)
The Gamble Vaccine Research Program at CCHMC
Epidemiologic studies- including large cohort studies underway for the CDC and NIH, which are focused on respiratory and enteric pathogens
Desired Experience:
PCR
ELISA
Multiplex assays
Neutralization assays
Other immune assays
Director Expectations:
Maintain CLIA and CAP certification of the laboratory
Enable innovative clinical trials designs through close interactions with multiple investigators
Design new assays in support of clinical studies as the needs arise
Have an understanding of major federal, industry, and foundation sources of funding
Skills in manuscript preparation and publication
Supervise an outstanding group of research assistants and research associates in the evaluation of human trials samples including processing and testing
This is a faculty position offered to outstanding PhD or MD candidates at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. Individuals with specific research interests that overlap with the interests of the LSCS, including those working in the area of influenza biology and immunology, are encouraged to apply.

Required:
PhD degree in a related scientific or research field
Five years related experience in research field research and/or Lab experience AND assisting with the preparation of data for presentation at scientific meetings.
