The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the Endoscopy/Special Procedures unit for all patient populations.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Systematically assessing the health status of individuals and record related health data
Planning and implementing nursing interventions
Providing pre, intra, and post procedure education to the patients, families, significant others, and/or caregivers
Providing health promotion strategies and education to patients and their support system,
Administering and evaluating pharmacological and other therapeutic treatment regimens mandated by the particular situation and evidence-based practice.
Evaluating outcomes of nursing intervention and initiating change when appropriate,
Assisting the physician and/or advanced provider during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (minor surgical, GI, Pulmonary and Pain Management) to promote optimal patient outcomes
Delegate tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act (if applicable), state board of nursing or professional registration requirements, state laws, and job descriptions.
Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
Any additional duties assigned that are in support of perioperative patient care.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Current state of Texas registered nurse licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Two years ambulatory surgery, Med-Surge or Endoscopic experience
