Promotes safety and well-being of all patients and staff in the assigned departments on a twenty-four hour basis. In collaboration with the Director and Medical Director and in close coordination with other hospital leaders, plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the overall clinical practice and administrative activities, including fiscal, material and human resources management of the departments. Works with local EMS, EMA and other community partners as required. Assists in maintaining hospital Joint Commission and other specialty certifications. Participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures. Maintains open communication with all staff to promote improvements in performance. Is a positively minded person. Assists as clinical RN as needed.
The Nurse Educator provides support to clinical and non-clinical staff by providing staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher. Supports the development of the bedside nurse, and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidence-based practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment and continuing education. Responsible for supporting clinical staff with initial and ongoing education and clinical development. In addition, as a role model of professional behavior, the Nurse Educator is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate within CMH to meet the needs of the diverse units and global needs.
Qualifications
·    Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse (RN).Â
·      Bachelor’s degree required in nursing or related field or currently working on degree; Master’s degree preferred.
·      Previous prehospital EMS experience as an EMT or paramedic is desirable.
·      Previous, recent, nursing leadership experience is preferred. Must have experience managing departments and leading people.
·      Position requires current knowledge and experience in critical care and/or emergency department clinical nursing.
·      Excellent communication and leadership skills.Â
·      Requires knowledge of regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations.Â
·      Demonstrates cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care.Â
·      Comfortable with a variety of technology including computers, EMR, Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
·      Recommended professional affiliations: AACN and ENA. Â
  Two years recent experience in an education setting to varied audiences or demonstrated ability to design and implement instructional modules and use a variety of educational methods preferred.
