SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Works in an inpatient critical care area that also provides mechanical circulatory support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Master's degree in Nursing 
• Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment 
• Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Basic Life Support (BLS) 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• ICU critical care experience 
• Two (2) years experience as a Nurse Practitioner 
• Two (2) years experience as a RN
