Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Temple is seeking an outstanding early to mid-career academic Acute Care Surgeon to join the Division of Trauma & Acute Care Surgery, within the Department of Surgery at our flagship hospital in Temple, TX.
Candidates must be BC/BE in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
Position Information
Privileges at our American College of Surgeons verified Level I Trauma facility in Temple, TX
Long term goal is to create a complete team of 8-10 Acute Care Surgeons
Responsibilities will include:
Evaluation of all trauma and emergency general surgery consults
Resident and medical student lectures for all aspects of Acute Care Surgery
Regional commitment to trauma and emergency services
Instructors for ATLS, ATOM, ASSET
Research and PI projects for Acute Care Surgery
Involvement in both TQIP and NSQIP
24 hour Dedicated OR Suite for Acute Care Surgery (Trauma and Emergency General Surgery) with no restriction to OR access
Established Surgical & Trauma Intensive Care Unit
Experience in laparoscopic surgery required
Academic affiliation with Texas A&M College of Medicine
Large general surgery residency program with resident coverage at all times.
Geriatric Trauma Service with full complement of APPs
In house trauma call is expected with dedicated call rooms available
