SUMMARY: This position is accountable for managing the respiratory needs of patients in the Emergency, Acute Care, and Critical Care units with consistency and a significant degree of independence under the direction of the Medical Director. The incumbent is expected to teach and deliver patient care at a proficient level in an efficient manner as well as serve as a resource to others within the scope of the Respiratory Care Practice Act and Valley Children's Healthcare policies.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a minimum of three years' experience full-time equivalent respiratory therapy experience to include one year of full time equivalent pediatric experience related to the specific area of practice. Graduation from a two year AMA approved respiratory care program with an Associate of Science Degree an active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure; a Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT); Life Support Certifications (see specifics below); and demonstrated basic mathematical calculation skills and understanding of age/cultural principles. Bilingual skills desirable. Life Support Certifications Required: HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months: for NICU only; PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 12 months of hire or transfer into position.
