The competent Registered Nurse (RN) has mastered basic technical and organizational nursing skills within an inpatient setting. He or she is skilled in evaluating patient responses and uses past experiences in providing care. Patients and families are viewed holistically, there is a focus on outcomes, and care is delivered using a systematic approach. The competent Registered Nurse (RN) is able to make decisions guided by limited experience, as well as policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. He or she consults with other members of the healthcare team when necessary. At the competent level, the RN can comfortably care for patients in his or her clinical area.
Tower 2:Tower 2 is a 36-bed inpatient unit comprised of but not limited to the cardiac population. Tower 2 works closely with the cardiac cath lab in receiving a recovering patients post procedure. Frequently seen are Cardiac catheterizations (angiograms) post MI, Pacemaker placements, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements (TAVR), and cardioversions to name some of the most frequently seen. We also initiate, titrate, and manage cardiac critical drips. Tower 2 also collaborates with ICU in receiving post CABG patients. Multidisciplinary collaboration is key to achieve safe discharge plans for our patient population. Our working relationship with our cardiology and cardiothoracic team are paramount in delivering stellar care. We welcome all levels of experience to our unit and have a robust orientation program. 2West Medical:If you are seeking variety then 2 West is the place for you. Here on 2 West we foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, professional growth and providing quality care. We are a medical surgical nursing unit that provides caring and individualized care. We treat adult acute care patients that come in with a variety of acute and chronic illnesses. 2 West believes in providing the best quality healthcare to our community. Our unit is comprised of 52 beds with a mixture of semi-private and private rooms. If you want the opportunity to learn about every body system, then our unit is for you. We welcome all levels of experience to our unit and have a robust orientation program for all our employee's to ensure they grow and develop as a professional and provide a great patient experience.
Tower 3:Tower-3 is composed of 36 private rooms and is considered a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit with specialty knowledge in the areas surrounding Oncology and Renal. The Registered Nurse (RN) on Tower-3 embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty and patient population served. Exhibits interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. Tower-3 provides our nurses with a wide range of opportunities such blood and blood product transfusions, chemotherapy, care of the oncology patient, care of the peritoneal and hemodialysis patient, wound care, telemetry monitoring, as well as overall care of the medical/surgical patient. These are all traits of what YRMC stands for in providing our community and patients with the value that all patients come first.
Tower 4:Tower 4 is composed of 36-bed inpatient unit caters to people with, but not limited to, musculoskeletal diseases and disorders such as arthritis, fractures, broken bones, joint replacements, and osteoporosis. In addition, Tower 4 also works directly with patients before and after they complete a surgical procedure to ensure they receive necessary medical attention, such as monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining patient records. Tower 4 team members work closely with the interdisciplinary team, such as medical providers, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, and social workers, in providing well-rounded care from admission to discharge that covers rehabilitation and appropriate placement from the case management team. Tower 4 is a one-stop shop for all acute medical and non-critical pre and post-surgical health needs. Our patient's length of stay varies from 24 hours to 30 observation and inpatient days.
Tower 5:Tower 5 is composed of 36-bed inpatient unit providing care to adults, specializing in care of the stroke patient. We have 8 beds (deemed the "stroke pod") dedicated to acute stroke patients, patients who are undergoing testing to rule out a stroke or transient ischemic event (TIA). We partner with many different disciplines to achieve complete stroke care and the patient's safe discharge from the hospital setting: Neurologists, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Case Managers and others. Our patients undergo unique testing, in accordance with our Stroke Pathway, and in alignment with our DNV accredited stroke program. The unit houses the Director, Nurse Educator, and hospital Stroke Coordinator, providing significant leadership support within arm's reach. Our orientation is robust, pairing staff with a Preceptor, and partnering with Clinical Education to offer our Registered Nurses (RN) the Nurse Residency Program. Thereafter, professional development remains a cornerstone, and Registered Nurse (RN) and PCAs have the opportunity to promote to higher levels, advancing their skills and position on the Career Ladder. An additional opportunity to Registered Nurse (RN) is the One C.L.E.A.R. Pathway and portfolio submission, professional growth captured via application, making the Registered Nurse (RN) eligible for a monetary bonus annually. Finally, staffing is highly prioritized; differentials, as well as pay incentives beyond overtime, exist at times to positively impact patient care and recognize staff for going above and beyond.
RN II - Med/Surg Minimum Requirements:
*Arizona or compact state RN License
*BLS & Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification(s) from the American Heart Association
*Computer proficiency (must be able to pass computer proficiency assessment)
RN II - Med/Surg Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record or similar electronic record systems
RN II - Med/SurgWork Schedule: 12-hours, Varied Shifts, Varied Days
