The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for assessing learning needs, designing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs (i.e., orientations, continuing education, and in-services) for the Respiratory Therapy staff and other hospital personnel that facilitates the professional growth, clinical competency, and compliance with all regulatory standards. Ensures that applicable regulatory and clinical standards of care are met within the organization related to therapist competency, patient education, and other education related standards. Provides patient care as indicated.

Ensures standardized unit-based orientation. Develops, plans, and implements initial and ongoing staff competency, noting non-compliance of staff.
Coordinates all annual skills competencies assuring all staff are competent to practice in assigned areas.
Enhances professional development and quality of care through observation, verbal critique and coaching, and written appraisal of staff.
Facilitates the integration of quality improvement activities into respiratory care practice. Identifies educational needs and opportunities using data from the organization such as regulatory requirements, survey information, employee, and patient evaluation data.
Collaborates with unit management to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.
Utilizes evidence-based practice and adult learning theory in education and course content.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
·Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education program.
·3 years of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting.
·Current credential of RRT by N.B.R.C.
·Current state Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RLT) in applicable state of employment
·Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
·Other certifications required upon hire or within 6 months of hire:
oAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
oPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
oNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
