Intermountain Health seeks a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon to join our team. We have a robust, comprehensive heart and vascular program in Southwest Utah. The group consists of over 50 providers within Cardiology, Advanced Imaging, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Structural Heart and Vascular and Vein. Our group is recruiting providers in majority of these areas due to the growth of our program and the overall needs of the community which is one of the top five fastest growing areas in the nation.
Our Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery group is the only Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery group in the area and services both the Intermountain Health St. George Regional Hospital (SGRH) and Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital (CCH). SGRH is a 284-bed hospital and major medical referral center for northwestern Arizona, southeastern Nevada, and southern Utah. It is a Level II Trauma center. In addition, SGRH is the #2 hospital in Utah according to the U.S. News and World Report and has a 5-star quality rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Cedar City Hospital is an hour north of SGRH and is a 48-bed full-service community hospital. CCH routinely ranks as one of the top community hospitals in the country. Currently, there are no other hospitals in the area.
Practice Information
Join a well-established group of cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons with APP support, nurse triage and MA’s
Reasonable call schedule
Case load of (25-30) consisting of open heart, TAVAR, coronary artery bypass, lung, and aortic repair.
You will split your time between clinic and the OR (1 day/week in clinic)

Community Information
The city of St. George has a population of 99,958 and the county has 191,226. As mentioned, the area has recently experienced major population growth, and the trend is expected to continue. The area is known for its breathtaking scenery and is the gateway to the nation’s largest concentration of national parks. Recreational activities for the entire family include boating, camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, and mountain biking. There is a moderate four-season climate, and during winter months residents can ski in the morning and play golf in nearby communities in the afternoon. Overall, you will find sunshine 300 days out of the year. Educational opportunities are available through Utah Tech University (UT) and Southern Utah University (SUU). Summer activities include the Utah Summer Games and the Utah Shakespearean Festival, recipient of the Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre. Southern Utah is near Las Vegas, NV (1.5 hrs.) and Salt Lake City, UT (4 hrs.).
BC or BE in Cardiothoracic Surgery (Required to maintain employment)
Will consider new graduates (Prefer 5 years or less of experience)
Unrestricted Utah MD or DO license or the ability to obtain an unrestricted license
