Children's Minnesota is the 7th largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. With more than 60 specialties, Children's Minnesota has the largest and broadest team of Kids ExpertsTM in our region.
We have a unique opportunity for a full time Pediatric Clinical Immunologist Physician. The Children's Minnesota immunology group is the only full-time pediatric program caring for children with inherited disorders of immunity in the region.
The immunology group sees a wide spectrum of immunologic diseases, caring for both inpatients and outpatients at our hospital sites in St. Paul and Minneapolis. The successful candidate will have experience in the clinical care of children with immunologic disorders and must have a dedicated interest in providing the highest level of up to date, evidence-driven clinical care. Experience with genetic testing for IEI and the laboratory evaluation of immune disorders is strongly encouraged. Experience and an ongoing commitment to academic inquiry is highly valued for this rapidly growing field. While this is a full-time clinical position, research opportunities may be available if interested. Children's Minnesota participates in the teaching of pediatric students, residents, and fellows from the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic at all levels, and the ideal candidate will be committed to teaching as well as life-long learning.
The Children's MN Immunology team collaborates closely with our established specialty groups, especially the Genetics and Cancer/Blood Disorders group. Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders program is the largest in the region, caring for more than 70 percent of children diagnosed (0-14) with cancer and blood disorders in Minnesota and 80 percent of those diagnosed in the Twin Cities. For children with the most severe IEIs, we collaborate with the Marrow Transplantation team at the University of Minnesota.
The successful applicant will join an established growing practice consisting of the Immunology/ID physician who founded the program, a highly experienced Pediatric Immunology NP, and a dedicated Immunology RN. Supporting staff (MA, social work, care coordinators) are shared with other specialty clinics.
Depending on their experience and interest in the care of children with IEIs, the successful candidate could be BC/BE in Pediatric Allergy/Immunology, Pediatric Rheumatology, Pediatric Infectious Diseases or Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
