Medical Laboratory Technician
This position is in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System. The incumbent works in the Pathology and Laboratory Service and functions as a Medical Technician, performing key duties in the clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology in the Brownsville CBOC clinic. ***DUTIES CONTINUED*** Specimen Collection and Processing The incumbent maintains skills and is proficient in phlebotomy and follows established guidelines by accrediting agencies (i.e. TJC, CLSI, CAP) guidelines for blood collections. The incumbent uses two unique patient identifiers and active communication with identifying patients for blood collections and all other specimen collection processes; collects vacutainers in accordance to laboratory policies and procedures; o
