VA Northern California Health Care System is looking for Neurologist trained and board certified in Sleep Medicine to join our team supporting our Stockton VA Community Based Clinic by providing a combination of tele-medicine and periodic on-site care in Stockton.
Qualified candidate will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with sleep disorders including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, REM behavior disorder, periodic limb movement disorder and others. The physician must know how to prescribe initial positive airway pressure (PAP) settings, evaluate and manage all modalities of PAP including making necessary changes to pressure settings, evaluation and management of sleep-related ventilatory disorders. Must be board certified in sleep medicine and able to independently interpret home and in-lab sleep studies and sleep oximetry. The candidate should be comfortable with providing telemedicine care modalities including video and telephone, across several geographical clinic locations. Travel to the Stockton clinic is periodically required. Responsibilities include inpatient telemedicine consultation, outpatient sleep clinic, sleep study testing procedure interpretation, CPAP prescribing and management, and periodic on-call telemedicine coverage in general neurology. The candidate will work closely with the team of other Neurologists as well as with support staff including nurse practitioners and medical technicians.
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week; this is not a virtual assignment. On-call coverage is via tele-health only during after hours, weekends and on holidays.
