PSV has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced part-time Registered Dietitian supporting our Pulmonary Medicine Clinic, located in Fairfax, VA. This position works 20 hours a week.
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing safe therapeutic nutritional care in a comprehensive and systematic way by integrating knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum. The Registered Dietitian will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with other clinical disciplines using a collaborative approach toward patient outcomes. He or she will act as a resource to physicians, nurses and other allied professional health care team members to provide patients with optimum nutritional care and education.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities expanded to managing database, school forms and patient visits independent of medical appointments when required
Travel is required for Annual Training/Conference
Performs a comprehensive nutrition assessment by analyzing and interpreting data from multiple sources.
Formulates an individualized nutrition plan of care based on assessment findings, interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
Coordinates the nutrition care plan with the physician and other health care providers and serves as a resource in the integration into the comprehensive plan of care for the patient.
Advocates patient rights from the family/patient perspective; provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
Provides appropriate documentation in the medical record summarizing the nutrition care plan; including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, plan implementation and progress toward goals. Assists health care team members with documentation related to nutrition.
Assess educational needs of patients and families and provides appropriate nutrition education/counseling.
Develops/revises standards for patient populations, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach and utilizing best practices.
Participates in planning and developing nutrition-related policies, procedures and goals.
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or other related field.
At least two (2) years of experience in healthcare environment.
Registered as a Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
All employees must pass an employment TB, drug and physical exam.
Desired Qualifications
At least three (3) years of experience working in a pediatric medical group or healthcare setting.
