Pulmonary/Critical Care Faculty Opportunity including Medical Directorship of ICU – Norwalk Hospital - Norwalk, Connecticut (50 miles from New York City)

Norwalk Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, employed Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician in Norwalk, Connecticut, located one hour outside of New York City in suburban Fairfield County. This is a unique opportunity to join a long-established teaching program with the opportunity for a faculty appointment. Our practice includes seven full-time physicians. The Norwalk Hospital Pulmonary Fellowship is a Yale University School of Medicine-affiliated program. Our practice is a collegial group with a strong commitment to teaching. This opportunity includes a Medical Directorship of the Norwalk Hospital ICU.

The ideal candidate will be board certified in both pulmonary and critical care medicine and have five years of post-fellowship experience, including in quality and patient safety. Responsibilities include direct and consulting pulmonary medicine care to inpatients and outpatients in our brand-new office, and direct and consulting critical care services. There is also participation in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows who rotate on the inpatient pulmonary consult service or in the ICU. This includes rounding and may also include teaching conferences or didactic lectures on PCCM topics. We have a robust pulmonary tumor board and an active Global Health program. Norwalk Hospital also has a one-year Sleep Medicine Fellowship program.

We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and dues expenses as well as a relocation stipend.

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. In addition to the Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine fellowships, Norwalk Hospital houses Internal Medicine and Radiology residencies, and a Gastroenterology fellowship. As a teaching hospital, we are a branch campus of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. We are also affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine through our teaching programs. Our employed Medical Practice includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
