Summary:
The Assistant Manager Respiratory Care assists the Respiratory Care Manager with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating delivery of patient care on assigned units on 24-hour basis.
Responsibilities:
1.Adds value as a key member of management understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy.
2.Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to meet company goals and expectations.
3.Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.
4.Assists the Respiratory Care Manager with assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating delivery of patient care on assigned units on 24-hour basis.
5.Assists the Respiratory Care Manager in providing direction to the development and evaluation of assigned personnel.
6.Assists Respiratory Care Manager in maintaining operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services.
7.Contributes to respiratory care and the Hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational efforts, and research and evidence-based practice efforts.
8.Participates in committees, task forces, meetings and activities to assist in the development of staff, promote self-professional development and enhance the practice of respiratory care.
9.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
10.Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1.Experience in respiratory care is required.
2.Experience in a neonatal/pediatric critical care environment is required.
3.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
4.Experience in healthcare is preferred.
5.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Electronic health record software used for inpatient care is required.
Education and Experience
1.Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of respiratory care is required Master's degree is preferred.
2.Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist credential is required Valid Ohio License as a Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) is required BLS certification is required PALS, NRP, ACLS certification is required within 1 year of employment.
3.Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred.
4.Years of experience supervising: 3 to 5 years is preferred.
